Peter Pan musical!

I’ve been relatively quiet the last couple weeks because I’ve been doing a personal project… Putting together a video of the West Coast road trip my brother and I took last year.  It was great fun, and we have a lot of good memories from Oregon & California.

I was also involved in an on-set recording/production project for a music magazine which has since collapsed entirely… That’s never fun, but these things happen all the time in the entertainment industry.  However, I do have a bunch of new projects in the pipeline, and I’ve just begun working on arrangements for a college production of Peter Pan.

Already, I’ve written the “Pirate March” and I have a half a dozen other pieces to work up within the next few weeks.  I will eventually create & post mock-ups of these tunes and perhaps in a few months a video recording of the show in its final form.

Either way, it’s a fun little project and a good excuse to brush up on some arranging chops that go unused most of the time.  And… It’s a great excuse to use Finale again, something I haven’t done in ages.  When you’re working mostly in recorded music & MIDI sequencing, attractive musical notation isn’t exactly that important.  Live performers are a different matter.

Fun times. Will update again soon.
